BOULDER CITY, Nev. -- A school-record performance Tuesday (Mar. 15) propelled the Missouri State women's golf team to a third-place finish at the Jackrabbit Invitational at Boulder Creek Golf Club. The Bears posted a seven-under-par 281 in the final round to break the single-round mark of 285 set last October at the Coyote Creek Classic, and posted a three-round total of 871, also breaking the old record of 878 established at the same October tournament in Peoria, Ill.
Senior Arielle Keating fired a five-under-par 67 and sophomore Kayla Pfitzner a four-under 68 to key MSU's record day along with a one-under 71 from senior Abby Cavaiani. Keating and Pfitzner tied for eighth in the tournament with even-par 216 totals; Keating shot 77-72-67 while Pfitzner carded 73-75-68. Senior Brooke Newell tied for 20th overall with 70-76-75--221, while junior Johanna Wollenhaupt shot 77-73-76--226. Cavaiani tallied 85-73-71--229 to tie for 39th.

The Bears final round pushed them past Rutgers, which had 872, Oklahoma City (878) and Little Rock (882) in the 16-team field. Chattanooga finished seventh (902), with Fairleigh Dickinson (905), North Dakota (912) and Bradley (922) rounding out the top 10.
