SPRINGFIELD -- Performance Foodservice – Ozarks and Missouri State University Athletics have reached a partnership to assist in providing nutritional support for the university's 400-plus student-athletes, the university announced Wednesday (Feb. 10).
Performance Foodservice – Ozarks will provide substantial annual contributions in nutritional items and dry goods, which will be distributed to MSU's student-athletes at the strength and conditioning center in Robert W. Plaster Stadium and other athletic facilities. The items, which include bagels, fruit cups, mixed nuts, granola bars, nutrition bars, and other nutritional snacks, will play a significant role in keeping Missouri State student-athletes healthy and in championship shape.
"This is a tremendous new partnership for Missouri State Athletics, and we're excited for what this means for our student-athletes and our programs," said MSU Director of Athletics
Kyle Moats. "We want to thank everyone at Performance for making the dream of a refueling station for Missouri State a reality."
Based in Richmond, Va., Performance Foodservice has local connections with a regional hub in the Ozarks.
"Performance Foodservice -- Ozarks is excited to partner with Missouri State University and its Athletics Department," said Performance Foodservice – Ozarks President Michael Buvid. "We look forward to having a positive impact on Missouri State University student-athletes by helping support good nutrition. This partnership gives us a chance to make a difference within our local community."
Missouri State is already realizing the benefits of the new partnership with the initial shipment already in place at Plaster Stadium for the student-athletes to enjoy.
