ST. LOUIS -- Missouri State forward Gaige Prim is in this week's MVC Scholar-Athlete Spotlight, the league announced Wednesday (Jan. 13).

He and Valpo thrower Hayley Krulik are these week's featured student-athletes.

Prim is a senior majoring in General Studies with a 3.06 GPA. In addition to being an All-MVC performer on the court, he has been named to the Athletic Director's Honor Roll in the spring and fall of 2020 and was on the MVC Honor Roll in 2020.  

On the court, Prim is second in the league in scoring at 17.4 points per game and leading the MVC in rebounds with 9.1 per game. Prim also leads The Valley in blocked shots (1.8 per game) and ranks second with a .660 field goal percentage.  He was a third-team All-MVC selection a year ago and was selected to the MVC All-Newcomer Team. He has also been on the Preseason All-MVC squad both seasons at Missouri State, was named MVC Player of the Week on Dec. 23, and earned MVC Newcomer of the Week on Nov. 25, 2019.

Prim and his teammates are off to an 8-1 start this season, which matches the team's best since 2013-14.
