ST. LOUIS, Mo. – After securing Missouri State's 16
th conference title at last week's MVC Championship, the women's swimming & diving team placed 11 student-athletes on the Valley's scholar-athlete team, as announced Thursday.
Haley Allen,
Sarah Allegri, and
Payton Smith represented the Bears' senior squad, each completing their careers with an above 3.50 GPA. Junior
Allee Armitage continued to shine in the classroom, being one of 10 student-athletes with a perfect 4.00.
Adding to the junior honorees were
Anna Miller,
Dayana Popa,
Madison Brown, and
Ashley Yarbrough. MSU's first-time honors were awarded to
Adriana Avila,
Alex Thorson, and
Sydney Radloff.
Scholar-Athlete honors require athletes to have completed at least one year and maintain either a 3.2 grade-point average and obtain all-conference honors, achieve a 3.5 grade-point average and finish top-16 in an individual event at the conference championships, or maintain a 3.8 grade-point average and participate in the MVC championship (including non-scorers).
