February 27, 2020

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – After securing Missouri State's 16th conference title at last week's MVC Championship, the women's swimming & diving team placed 11 student-athletes on the Valley's scholar-athlete team, as announced Thursday.

Haley Allen, Sarah Allegri, and Payton Smith represented the Bears' senior squad, each completing their careers with an above 3.50 GPA. Junior Allee Armitage continued to shine in the classroom, being one of 10 student-athletes with a perfect 4.00.

Adding to the junior honorees were Anna Miller, Dayana Popa, Madison Brown, and Ashley Yarbrough. MSU's first-time honors were awarded to Adriana Avila, Alex Thorson, and Sydney Radloff.

Scholar-Athlete honors require athletes to have completed at least one year and maintain either a 3.2 grade-point average and obtain all-conference honors, achieve a 3.5 grade-point average and finish top-16 in an individual event at the conference championships, or maintain a 3.8 grade-point average and participate in the MVC championship (including non-scorers).
