COLUMBIA, Mo. – The Missouri State women's swimming & diving squad took down its second MVC Championship record in as many days and added to its growing lead Thursday evening at the Mizzou Aquatic Center.
MSU ballooned its team score to 309.50 by the conclusion of day two, with current runner-up SIU tallying 214 points through seven events. Illinois State and Indiana State round out the top half at 185 and 183.50 points, respectively. UNI (172), Evansville (110), Little Rock (83), and Valparaiso (71) fill out the remaining competitors.

Junior
Anna Miller highlighted the day's events with a record-breaking championship performance 22.51 swim in the 50 freestyle, taking down a long-standing time set by MSU's Amber Green in 2011.
Libby Howell paced four MSU finishers in the 500 free, claiming the Bears' second individual title of the night with a 4:48.35 mark. Fellow Bears
Grace Beahan and
Alex Thorson completed the 1-2-3 sweep with times of 4:53.23 and 4:53.43, respectively.
MSU found the podium in the 200 IM, with
Sydney Radloff claiming bronze with a 2:02.24 effort.
Ellie Southward led the B-heat with a ninth-place finish and
Haley Allen rounded out MSU's point scorers in twelfth. Â
The lone relay event of the night belonged to the Bears, with the team of
Yuliya Zubina,
Ulyana Zubina,
Hannah Amelung, and Miller capturing the 200 free to conclude day two. Â Â
Three MSU divers landed on the 1-meter podium, as
Ashley Yarbrough (265.10),
Adriana Avila (250.05), and
Dayana Popa (246.10) claimed the 4-5-6 spots on stage.
Day three of championship action resumes tomorrow with prelims at 11 a.m. and finals occurring at 6 p.m.
