SPRINGFIELD – The Missouri State women's tennis program received a National Letter of Intent from Tiera Jarmond to join the Bears next fall.
 
Jarmond is a 5-foot-8 senior from Austin, Texas and attends online school through Laurel Springs School.
 
Her freshman season, Jarmond was ranked in the top 60 nationally in doubles play and top 70 nationally in singles through her club team, The Polo Tennis Club in Austin, Texas.
 
During her sophomore campaign, she was ranked in the top 40 in Texas, was the singles consolation winner at Nationals Level 2, received the sportsmanship award at National Doubles Championships and participated in the ITA national summer championship.
 
Before COVID-19 canceled most of her junior season, she was ranked in the top 30 in Texas and was a doubles semifinalist in two Texas tournaments. Tournament play has been limited due to COVID-19, but Jarmond remains ranked in the top 30 and was a singles finalist in the ATA super champ excellence tournament.
 
Tiera is the daughter of Trey and Lina Jarmond. Trey and Martin Jarmond (uncle) both played division I basketball.
