Childers, Cavaiani Haul in National Academic Honors

Missouri State women's golfer Ashley Childers has capped off her collegiate career with one more in a long line of academic honors, this one the most prestigious yet. The Mount Vernon, Mo. native has been named a Google Cloud Academic All-American by the College Sports Information Directors of America. Childers was named to the Women's At-Large Third Team for spring sports after graduating with 4.0 grade-point average while majoring in Logistics and Supply Chain Management. Childers and teammate Abby CavaianiĀ also have been honored as All-American Scholars by the Women's Golf Coaches Association. This marks the fourth time Childers has been so honored and it's the first for Cavaiani, who was a freshman this past season. Cavaiani compiled a 3.97 GPA in her first season while majoring in Business. The Wales, Wis. native also captured individual medalist honors at the Missouri Valley Conference Championship.

To be eligible to be an All-American Scholar, an athlete must have a minimum GPA of 3.50 and have competed in at least 50 percent of her team's competitions. Click here for the complete All-American Scholar list.
