The Missouri State men's golf team has received a commitment from one of the state's top high school players to join the Bears for the 2019-20 season. Austin Gillund will join Coach
Neal Stafford's team for the upcoming season after a standout career at Clinton (Mo.) High School.
Gillund was an all-state and all-district performer his senior year after finishing third at the Class 3 state tournament earlier this month. He also captured his sectional championship and finished third at the district meet. Gillund also was an all-district choice as a junior before finishing 20th at the state tournament. He also was a state qualifier as a sophomore at Cactus Shadows High School in Scottsdale, Ariz.
Gillund joins a recruiting class that also includes Maxwell Kreikemeier of Chesterfield, Mo., and Eric Byun of Richmond Hill, Ontario, all who will be freshmen next season.
