JONESBORO, Ark. -- The Missouri State men's golf team finished seventh Tuesday (Apr. 2) at the Bubba Barnett Intercollegiate at RidgePointe Country Club. The Bears entered the day in seventh and shot 299 in the final round to maintain their spot in the 11-team field. They posted 308-289-299 for an 896 total over two days.

Senior Kory Franks led the way for the Bears, finishing 15th in the medalist competition after carding 74-72-73--219. MSU's other three seniors finished just a stroke apart -- Jack Knoesel shot 77-74-74--225 to tie for 26th, Adam Fisher had 78-74-74--226 to tie for 31st, and Brad Carpenter posted 79-70-78--227 to place 33rd. Lukas McCalla tied for 44th with 79-73-78--230. A pair of Bears competed as individuals, not part of the team race. Christopher Obert snagged a 20th-place finish by shooting 76-73-73--222, while Carter Lee tied for 52nd with 75-78-80--233.

Host Arkansas State won the team title comfortably, beating runnerup ULM, 857-873. Eastern Kentucky (879) came in third, with Jacksonville State (880) and SIU Edwardsville (886) rounding out the top five.

The Bears are back in action Monday and Tuesday (Apr. 8-9) at the Mizzou Intercollegiate in Columbia, Mo.
