The Missouri State men's golf team returns to action Monday and Tuesday (Mar. 11-12), hosting the Twin Oaks Intercollegiate in Springfield. The Bears welcome eight other teams to town for the event, the second on the spring slate for MSU. The Bears opened their campaign last month with a fifth-place finish at the Loyola Intercollegiate in suburban Phoenix.
The tournament gets underway Monday morning with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start and teams playing 36 holes. The final round Tuesday starts with tee times off both no. 1 and no. 10 tee, beginning at 8 a.m. Two-time defending champion Bradley is back to defend its title, while the Bears are trying to get to the winner's circle after two straight runner-up finishes. Other teams in the field include Drake, Northern Iowa, Evangel, Creighton, Green Bay, SIUE and Valparaiso. Twin Oaks Country Club, a par 71, 6748-yard layout, will play host to the field. Admission is free and open to the public, but those unable to attend can follow live scoring on Birdiefire atÂ
