United Soccer Coaches Poll
SPRINGFIELD – Missouri State men's soccer (7-0-0) jumped to No. 17 in the latest United Soccer Coaches Poll released on Tuesday.
Â
MSU moved up two spots from last week's poll that saw MSU crack the top-25 rankings for the second straight season. The No. 17 ranking marks the highest spot for the Bears since the 2005 team peaked at No. 9 during an eight-week stretch inside the top-25.Â
Missouri State is one of four Division-I teams that remain perfect on the season, joining Virginia, SMU, and Navy.
The Bears have opened the 2019 season with a seven-game winning streak for the first time since 1995. The seven-game stretch also matches a 2017 winning streak that went from Sept. 13, 2017 to Oct. 7, 2017.
MSU ranks second in the United Soccer Coaches West Region behind Saint Mary's (CA) which fell 4-2 against UC Davis on Thursday, Sept. 26. Top Drawer Soccer has the Bears coming in at No. 19 in its latest poll announced on Monday.
Missouri State wraps up non-conference play with a match against Omaha today at 6:00 p.m. at Betty and Bobby Allison South Stadium.
