Men's Swimming and Diving Readies for Shamrock Invitational

SPRINGFIELD – The Missouri State swimming and diving men's team will compete in their final regular season meet, the University of Notre Dame Shamrock Invitational, on Friday, Jan. 25 and Saturday, Jan. 26 in South Bend, Ind.

Bear Bites: 
  • Artur Osvath was selected as the Mid-American Conference Swimmer of the Week on Jan. 23. He had a standout weekend against rivals Drury and Missouri, pulling in four first-place individual finishes and was an intricate part of a 200 medley team victory. At Drury he won the 200 IM (1:49.25), 100 butterfly (47.81), and swam a leg in the Bears' first-place 200 medley (1:29.41) to help Missouri State take a dominant 169-65 victory. Osvath won another two events against nationally-ranked Missouri, in the 100 and 200 breaststroke with times of 54.70 and 1:58.16. 
  • Last week, the Missouri State swimming and diving men's team handily won against Drury 169-65. The Bears had 11 first-place finishers on the night.
  • This is the Bears final regular season meet before they head to the MAC Conference Championships, March 4-7, in Oxford, Ohio.
  • Last year, Missouri State finished fifth at the Shamrock Invitational. Osvath, Antonio Thomas, and Minki Kang each recorded B-standard times.
