Day One Results
The Missouri State men's golf team opened its 2018-19 season Friday (Sept. 7) at the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational at the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. The Bears shot 296 in the opening round of the three-day tournament and sit in 12th place in the 16-team field after 18 holes at the acclaimed Eisenhower Golf Course.

Brad Carpenter fired a one-under-par 71 to lead the way for MSU, with fellow senior
Adam Fisher just a shot back at 72. Seniors
Kory Franks and
Jack Knoesel carded 76 and 77, respectively, while sophomore Chris Obert had 78.Â
New Mexico State grabbed the first-round lead in the tightly-packed field with 284, while Weber State and Colorado are just a stroke back and UC Davis two shots behind. Wyoming is fifth with 287, followed by Air Force (288), Abilene Christian and Utah State (289), and Northern Colorado and Texas State (292) rounding out the top 10. Utah Valley (294) is 11th, followed by the Bears, SIU Edwardsville (298), Southern Utah (299), UNI (301) and Drake (303.
Second-round play is scheduled for Saturday morning with the final round set for Sunday.
