September 21, 2018

SPRINGFIELD – Missouri State University Director of Athletics Kyle Moats announced Friday that Alec O'Reilly will join the basketball staff at MSU as the video and analytics coordinator for the Bears and Lady Bears.

O'Reilly is a Springfield native and a 2018 graduate of the University of Arkansas where he studied at the Sam M. Walton School of Business with a minor in Economics. While in Fayetteville, he spent three seasons as the director of basketball analytics and Sportvu operations for the Razorbacks. He also attended the prestigious MIT Sloan Sports Analytics Conference in Boston in 2017.

He will oversee practice, pregame and postgame player analysis efforts for both Missouri State basketball teams, using player video and statistical data.

"I am very excited to be a part of two high-level programs and do everything I can to help them succeed," said O'Reilly. "This is a fantastic opportunity for me to return to my hometown and provide cutting-edge analytic trends to the Bears and Lady Bears."

O'Reilly is a product of Springfield Catholic High School where he earned the team's basketball leadership award his senior season. He has also been active in basketball summer camp operations at Missouri State and Springfield Catholic in addition to numerous service activities at the University of Arkansas.

Also new to the MSU men's basketball staff this fall is graduate assistant Michael Collins. He is a native of Highlands Ranch, Colo., and a 2017 graduate of Colorado State University. He will be studying Sports Management at Missouri State.
