ARDMORE, OKLA. -- Capping off the first weekend of play, the Missouri State women's golf team finished in sixth place at the ORU Lady Maxwell. The Bears held onto sixth firing 318-296-305--919 through three rounds on the 6,037 yard Dornick Hills course.
    Freshman
Abby Cavaiani took the top spot for the Bears in 17th and one of two bears to break the top 20. Cavaiani shot 79-76-73--228 to move up from 25th on the final day of competition. One stroke behind, tied for 18th,
Rachel Johnson also posted her best round on day three firing off 80-76-73--229.

Allison Bray remained a consistent force for the Bears, carding 77-77-78--232 to tie for 25th.
Faith Belmear shot 79-77-77-233 to tie for 27th while competing as an individual in Ardmore. Sophomore
Niamh Lendrum finished tied for 31st with 82-71-83--236.
Ashley Childers carded 84-73-81--238 to tie for 36th.
    In the team standings, UTSA held onto first with 876, followed by Sam Houston State (884), Troy (887), Oral Roberts (901), Texas State (907), Missouri State (919), Stephen F. Austin (925), and UT Arlington (947).
    The Bears are back in action from Sept. 10-11 to host the MSU/Payne Stewart Memorial at Twin Oaks CC in Springfield, Mo.
