PEORIA, Ill. – Senior Abbey Belote collected a tough three-set win to capture a 4-3 Missouri Valley Conference victory for the Missouri State women's tennis team over Bradley on Saturday at the Courts at River City.

Belote defeated Bradley's Kinga Kovacs, 2-6, 6-4, 6-1 at the No. 6 singles match.

"Today was a fantastic match on both sides," head coach Mallory Weber said. "We fought so hard to pull out four of the singles matches. I couldn't be prouder of our fight and heart. We are excited to get back out there and fight tomorrow."

Missouri State, improving 6-7 on the season and 1-0 in MVC action, headed into singles action down a point to Bradley (3-13, 0-2 MVC) after the Braves tallied doubles wins in the top two flights.

Freshman Ellie Burger picked up the Bears first singles point, capturing a 7-6 (7), 6-2 victory over Victoria Gonzalez at the No. 5 match to push the score to 2-1.

Senior Anelisse Torrico Moreno tied up the match at 2-2 with a three-set victory, defeating Natalia Barbery 6-3, 3-6, 6-4, at No. 2 singles.

Bradley briefly held the lead after picking up a three-set win at the No. 3 singles match before Missouri State collected the No. 4 and No. 6 singles matches for the victory.

Junior Fati Khamissi moved to a team-leading 9-4 on the season after she defeated BU's Alexa Brandt, 7-5, 4-6, 6-2 at No. 4 singles.

Missouri State heads to Bloomington, Ill., to face Illinois State on Sunday, April 8, at 10 a.m. at the Bloomington Tennis Center.
