Final Results

JONESBORO, Ark. -- The Missouri State men's golf team made a nice jump up the leaderboard Tuesday (Apr. 3) in the final round of the Bubba Barnett Intercollegiate. The Bears moved up three spots to finish fifth in the 14-team field after a final round 291, which gave them an 876 total after they tallied 299-286 on Monday.

Individually, juniors Brad Carpenter and Adam Fisher paced MSU, tying for 13th place with totals of two-over par 218; Carpenter had rounds of 72-71-75, while Fisher went 76-70-72. Two more Bears tied for 20th as junior Kory Franks and sophomore Lukas McCalla each posted 220. Franks had a team-best 70 in the final round to go with 76-74 on Monday, and McCalla shot 75-71-74. Senior Brian Rogers shot 78-78-75--231 and tied for 56th. Medalist honors went to Matthew Cole of host Arkansas State as he fired 66-71-69--206, 10 under par.

ASU cruised to the team title, shooting 26 under par as a team with an 838 total, 29 strokes better than its "B" team, which totaled 867. Oral Roberts (871), UT Arlington (873) and the Bears rounded out the top five. UT Martin (878) was sixth, followed by Southern Illinois (881), Austin Peay (887), Southeastern Louisiana (892), Belmont (894), Florida Atlantic (897), Samford (909), Omaha (911) and Eastern Illinois (922). 

The Bears will wind up the last of four consecutive tournaments next Monday and Tuesday (Apr. 9-10) at the Mizzou Intercollegiate in Columbia, Mo.
