MSU Tennis Advances Past Bradley, 4-0

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. –  The Missouri State women's tennis team defeated Bradley, 4-0, to advance to the semifinals of the 2018 Missouri Valley Conference Team Tennis Championship on Friday at Cooper Tennis Complex.
Missouri State (10-9) advances to face No. 1 seed Drake (15-5) at 10 a.m. on Saturday. Bradley completes the season at 5-15.
This marks the first time since the program was reinstated prior to the 2014-15 season that the Bears have advanced past the quarterfinals of the championship.
The Bears started quickly as Fati Khamissi and Alexia Meyer defeated Kinga Kovacs and Victoria Gonzalez, 6-1, at No. 3 doubles. Ellie Burger and Alye Darter clinched the doubles point for Missouri State with a 6-4 win over Sandra Maletin and Natalia Barbery at No. 1 doubles.
Burger kept the up the fast pace, pushing MSU's lead to 2-0, with a 6-2, 6-0, over Victoria Gonzalez at No. 5 singles.
Khamissi collected a 6-3, 6-0, victory at No. 4 singles over Alexia Brandt, and Abbey Belote sealed the victory with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Kovacs.
