MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – In his third appearance at the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships, junior transfer
Blair Bish placed 18
th overall in the 100 breaststroke, Friday at the Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center on the campus of the University of Minnesota.

Bish finished the 100 breast in 52.63 seconds for a seventh-place finish in heat six. Racing against Indiana standout Ian Finnerty, Bish completed the first 50 yards in 24.50 seconds and finished out the event with a 28.13-second split. His time was .70 seconds over his personal best set at the 2018 Mid-American Conference Championship, but still topped every other Bear in the MSU record book.

The transfer from Arizona was the 11
th Bear in program history to qualify for the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships. Bish's efforts at the NCAA Championships continues tomorrow, where he enters the 200 breast at No. 41. He sits second all-time in the MSU record books after his bronze-medal performance at the 2018 MAC Championship. He finished third at the league meet in 1:56.61.
