Final Results
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Missouri State junior
Adam Fisher holed a 30-foot birdie putt on the final hole Tuesday (Mar. 20) to claim medalist honors at the Twin Oaks Intercollegiate in Springfield, Mo. Entering the final hole tied and paired with Kyle Slattery of SIUE, Fisher watched Slattery's 35-footer settle to within tap-in distance before draining his putt straight up the hill on the par 4, 420-yard 18th hole. It was sweet redemption for the native of Aberdeen, Scotland, after he finished second by a shot in the same tournament a year ago. Fisher fired 72-69-69--210, three under par, in three trips around the par 71, 6760-yard Twin Oaks course.Â
MSU tied for second in the team race as Bradley narrowly escaped Twin Oaks Country Club for the second straight year, posting a three-stroke victory over the Bears and SIUE. MSU trailed Bradley by a single stroke entering the final round, but couldn't make up the difference, posting a 294 to the Braves' 292 in the final round, again in cold and windy conditions similar to Monday. SIUEÂ shot the round of the day, 287, to catch the Bears after entering the day in third place.
MSU shot 283-287-294--864 to finish runner-up for the second consecutive year. Bradley posted 280-289-292--861, while SIUEÂ tallied 291-286-287--864.
