MANHATTAN, KAN. – The Missouri State women's tennis team battled, but fell to No. 40 Kansas State, 7-0, Sunday afternoon at Mike Goss Tennis Stadium.
"Tough match today, but such a great learning experience playing a nationally-ranked team that is going to keep moving up through the rankings," head coach
Mallory Weber said. "Matches like this makes us tougher and gets us ready for conference in a few weeks."
Missouri State (5-6) was unable to disrupt Kansas State (11-4) in doubles action. The Bears' No. 1 doubles pair of
Alye Darter and
Ellie Burger picked up a point off of K-State's Carolina Costamagna and Margot Decker but fell 6-1. The Wildcats secured the doubles point with a 6-0 decision in the No. 3 flight.

Fati Khamissi's four match winning streak was snapped by Anna Turco falling in a 6-1, 6-4 decision in the No. 4 match.
The Bears are back in action on Friday, March 30 against McNeese State in a neutral site match up in Conway, Ark. First serve is set for 9:00 a.m.
