After two weeks away from competition, the Missouri State men's golf team returns to action Monday and Tuesday (Mar. 19-20), hosting the Twin Oaks Intercollegiate in Springfield. The Bears welcome 10 other teams to town for the event, the second on the spring slate for MSU. The Bears opened their campaign last month with a 10th-place finish at the Loyola Intercollegiate in suburban Phoenix.

The tournament gets underway Monday morning with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start and teams playing 36 holes. The final round Tuesday starts with tee times off both no. 1 and no. 10 tee, beginning at 8 a.m. Bradley is back to defend its title from a year ago, when it edged the Bears by two strokes. Other teams in the field include Northern Iowa, Evangel, Creighton, South Dakota, Western Illinois, Loyola (IL), Green Bay, SIUE and Valparaiso. Twin Oaks Country Club, a par 71, 6760-yard layout, will play host to the field. Admission is free and open to the public, but those unable to attend can follow live scoring on Birdiefire at http://bfire.co/-6b989/.

Missouri State enters the tournament with the top team scoring average in the Missouri Valley Conference at 290 per round, and four players in the top 10 in scoring. A foursome of juniors leads the way for the Bears led by Jack Knoesel, tops in the league with 72.33 mark. Adam Fisher is fourth at 72.40, Kory Franks sixth at 72.83, and Brad Carpenter ninth at 73.00. Fisher finished second by a single shot at last year's Twin Oaks Intercollegiate.
