Tennis Bears Drop 6-1 Decision to Central Arkansas

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The Missouri State women's tennis team fell 6-1 to Central Arkansas on Sunday at Burns Park.

"It was a tough match, but I'm really proud of how we completed," head coach Mallory Weber said. "We had a lot of very tight sets and matches that we have to be just a little bit stronger to execute on key points. I like where we are at heading into this next stretch of matches."

Bears' (3-3) doubles duo senior Anelisse Torrico Moreno and junior Phoebe Boeschen defeated Xylia Chunan Xiang and Amiru Shimoguchi 7-6 (5), but Central Arkansas (5-2) collected the doubles point.

In singles, Boeschen collected the Bears' only point with a 1-6, 6-3, 7-5 win at the No. 3 match.

The Bears are back in action on Friday, March 2, when they take on Quincy (Ill.)
