SPRINGFIELD – The Missouri State swimming and diving team will honor 10 seniors in its Senior Day meet against the University of Missouri on Saturday, Jan. 20 at Hammons Student Center. The dual will serve as the Bears' final home meet of the season, as well as the women's regular season finale before heading to the Missouri Valley Conference Championship.

Action at Hammons Student Center is scheduled to begin at noon, where divers will see their time to shine on the one and three-meter diving boards. Swimming events will begin at approximately 3 p.m., while the team's senior ceremony will take place after the conclusion of the women's 400 IM and men's 200 IM.

The Bears caught a glimpse of Missouri in their first meet of the season, the Missouri Show-Me Showdown, where both teams finished second behind the Tigers. At the Show-Me-Showdown, the men brought in 16 top-five swims and the women combined for 11 top-five swims.

The men's squad broke a couple of school and conference records this season.

Blair Bish,
Artur Osvath and
Samuel Senn snapped the Mid-American Conference record in the 200 medley relay on Nov. 17 at the Purdue Invitational. The four clipped the record with a time of 1:26.36 – just .43 seconds faster than the previous record. Bish set another MAC and school record, this time in the 100 breast at the Purdue Invitational. The newcomer touched the wall in an impressive 52.20 seconds to set his first individual record for the Bears.

On the women's side,
Libby Howell,
Josie Pearson and
Emma Wall topped the MSU record books in their respective events. Howell snapped a five-year-old record in the 1650 free with a time of 16:41.67. Pearson grabbed the No. 1 spot in MSU's 400 IM event (4:17.87) while Wall broke the school record in the 100 fly (54.13).
