Final Results
The Missouri State women's golf team rallied on the final day of its season opener Tuesday (Sept. 12) and moved up two spots at its own MSU/Payne Stewart Memorial in Springfield, Mo. The Bears shot 300 in the final round and finished with a tournament total of 912 to place fifth of 15 teams.
Senior Verena Gimmy paced MSU with a 74 in the final round and tied for 15th in the tournament with a 225 total after posting 76-75 on Monday. Teammate

Ashley Childers carded 76-78-75--229 and tied for 32nd. Sophomore
Ryan Pate placed 44th with 80-77-76--233 while freshman
Bridget Schulte carded 86-84-83--253 to finish 85th. Sophomore
Sophia Sadaro shot 84-85-85--254 while playing as an individual. Senior
Stine Pettersen and freshman Rike Kutschinski shot 75 and 76, respectively, on Monday before being forced to withdraw due to injury.
Memphis led wire-to-wire to claim the team title, firing 293-287-294--874 in three trips around the par 71, 5984-yard Twin Oaks Country Club layout. Murray State was second with an 888 total, while UTEPÂ finished third with 896, Wichita State fourth at 902 and the Bears rounding out the top five. South Dakota finished sixth with 915, followed by ULM (917), Drake, South Dakota State and UMKC (922), William Woods (936), Omaha (937), Oklahoma City (940), Creighton (942) and Drury (976).
Michaela Fletcher of Memphis took home medalist honors after firing 72-69-71--212.
The Bears are idle next week, but return to action Sept. 25-26 at the ORU Shootout in Tulsa, Okla.
