Missouri State golfer
Ashley Childers has earned a national honor for her achievements in the classroom. The junior-to-be from Mount Vernon, Mo., has been named an All-American Scholar by the Women's Golf Coaches Association.
Childers has compiled a perfect 4.0 cumulative grade-point average through her first two years at MSU while majoring in Logistics and Supply Chain Management. She received honorable mention to the Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete Team this past season as a sophomore, while on the course she averaged 79.09 in 33 rounds while competing in all 11 tournaments for the Bears.
Childers was one of 952 golfers recognized nationally by the WGCA for having a 3.50 or better GPA, playing in a minimum of 50 percent of her team's tournaments, and being of high moral character and in good academic standing.
