The men's and women's teams enter Friday's meet after a successful weekend at the Purdue Invitational. There, the Bears broke multiple records, and posted some of the top times in the nation. Blair Bish highlighted Missouri State with a record-breaking swim in the 100 breast that sits second on the national stage. His quick time of 52.20 seconds in the event earned him a second-place finish at the Purdue Invitational.

The men's 200 medley relay set a school and Mid-American Conference record as well. Conner Ripp, Bish, Artur Osvath and Samuel Senn combined for a quick time of 1:26.36 in the event. The Missouri State men now lead the MAC in 13 separate events, holding the top spot in every individual event except the 200 back.

On the women's side, Libby Howell, Josie Pearson and Emma Wall topped the MSU record books in their respective events. Howell snapped a five-year-old record in the 1650 free with a time of 16:41.67. Pearson grabbed the No. 1 spot in MSU's 400 IM event (4:17.87) while Wall broke the school record in the 100 fly (54.13). The women lead the Missouri Valley Conference in the 200 free, 100 back, 200 breast, 100 fly and 200 fly.
