SPRINGFIELD – After a lengthy respite from competition, the Missouri State swimming and diving team will travel to the University of Purdue where the Bears will take part in the three-day Purdue Invitational on Nov. 16-18 at West Lafayette, Ind.
Prelims will take place at 9 a.m. and finals sessions will begin at approximately 5 p.m. on each day of the invitational. The high-profile meet will feature competition from host Purdue, Florida, Indiana, Virginia Tech, Southern Illinois, Navy (men), Florida International (women), as well as divers from North Carolina and Indiana State.

Bear Bites
The Bears enter the Purdue Invitational coming off big victories against crosstown rival Drury. The MSU women finished on top with a score of 135-107 while the men posted a 144-87 victory over the Panthers. Eight student-athletes came away with individual victories and, as a result of the victory, the men broke a 16-16 all-time series record deadlock.

In the Missouri Valley Conference, the women's squad holds 19 top-five finishes across 14 events. Junior
Josie Pearson leads the way in three events, holding the top spot in the 200 fly as well as the 200 and 400 IM.
Sydney Zupan follows Pearson with two leading times in the 100 free and 100 fly.

Christopher Heye also hold top spots in the league. The Bears combine for 28 top-five times and they have dominated the 100 and 200 breast.
