Missouri State men's golf coach
Neal Stafford has announced the signing of two high school standouts to continue their careers as Bears for the 2018-19 school year. The latest addition to his roster are Julian Audibert of Eguilles, France, and Austin Enzbrenner of Owasso, Okla.
Audibert was the 55th ranked junior in France last year and finished 54th at the French junior boys championship this past summer. He posted five top-25 finishes in junior events around France a year ago, including a win at the Grand-Prix Amateur, where he shot 67-67, and fourth place at the Yves Caillol Cup.
"I am very excited to have Julian join us next fall," said Stafford. "He has a very extensive international resume and has shown the ability to play at a very consistent rate. He has a fundamentally sound golf swing and short game. I anticipate him making an immediate impact even with a very veteran team returning for 2018-19."
Enzbrenner posted top-25 finishes in three AJGA events this past summer, placing 16th at the Bass Pro Shops/Payne Stewart Junior Championship in Branson. He also finished 20th at the AJGA Junior at Oak Tree and 22nd at the Under Armour/Gary Woodland Championship. Enzbrenner fired a second-round 62 at the 2016 AJGA Junior at Oak Tree on his way to a fourth-place finish. He finished seventh at the Oklahoma Class 6A state tournament as a junior for Owasso High after placing third at the regional tournament and second in the conference. As a sophomore Enzbrenner won the regional title and finished fourth at state. He also won Oklahoma Junior Golf Tour events at Forest Ridge and Muskogee.
"I liked Austin's demeanor and approach to the game the instant I first watched him," Stafford said. "The confidence he carries is truly one of those intangibles. He comes from a very athletic family and a very strong high school golf program in the state of Oklahoma. His ability to put together under par rounds has been very impressive. I also anticipate Austin competing right away next year."
