SPRINGFIELD– The Missouri State women's tennis team heads to Normal, Illinois, to compete in the 2017 Missouri Valley Conference Individual Championship on Saturday, October 7 through Monday, October 9 at Gregory Street Tennis Courts. All three days will start at 9 a.m., with doubles matches.
"This tournament is the one we most look forward to on our fall schedule because we get to see where we stack up in the conference heading into our spring matches," head women's tennis coach
Mallory Weber said. "This year the conference is so open without Wichita State and Southern Illinois so it will be exciting to see the competitiveness in this tournament throughout all of the flights.
"Our first two weekends at UCA were great warm-ups for this event because of the number of matches and the quality of opponents."
Missouri State is paced by the doubles duo of sophomore
Alye Darter and freshman
Ellie Burger, who is currently 5-1 in the fall season. Last weekend, the pair swept all three of their matches at the UCA Fall Classic.
