ST. LOUIS – For the second straight week Missouri State Men's Soccer defender
Kyle Hiebert was honored Wednesday as the Missouri Valley Conference Enterprise Bank Scholar-Athlete of the Week.
Hiebert owns a 4.00 cumulative grade point average in Accounting. The sophomore defender, played all 90 minutes of MSU's 1-0 shutout against Valparaiso Saturday night. The Bears kept the Crusaders to eight total shots during the game with just two on goal.
The La Salle, Manitoba, Canada native has played a huge role in MSU's six game winning streak and five consecutive shutouts. The Bears "bend but don't break" defense this season has given up 117 shots, but only allowed four goals through 10Â games. Hiebert has also attempted seven shots this season.

To qualify for MVC Scholar-Athlete of the Week laurels, student-athletes must carry a cumulative GPA of 3.20, completed at least one academic year at a Valley institution and must be at least a sophomore in academic standing. Redshirt freshmen and first-year junior college transfers are not eligible. In addition to the academic qualifications, student-athletes will be evaluated on their athletic performance for a one-week period.
