SPRINGFIELD -- The Missouri State and Arkansas women's basketball teams conducted a closed scrimmage Sunday at JQH Arena, playing six 10-minute periods on the afternoon.

"Today was a great opportunity for our team to play against someone other than themselves," said fifth-year head coach Kellie Harper. "I thought we played hard and shot the ball well, and also saw some things we need to improve before the season begins."

Per NCAA rules, informal practice scrimmages against other Division I institutions must be closed to the public. Schools are allowed a total of two exhibitions and/or closed scrimmages.

The Lady Bears host Lindenwood in exhibition action at JQH Arena on Nov. 5 at 2 p.m., and tip off the regular season Nov. 13 with a 6 p.m. game at Ball State.
