CLEVELAND – Earning the second weekly award of his Missouri State career, junior
Phillip Willett was named the Mid-American Conference Swimmer of the Week, announced by the league Thursday.

Propelling the Bears to victory, Willett had an excellent showing against Southern Illinois. The St. Louis native brought in one win and two second-place finishes against the Salukis. His victory came in the 200 breast where he claimed the event in 2:02.20, which sits 12th in the nation.

Willett touched the wall second in the 200 IM and is tied for 15th in the nation with a time of 1:52.06. He later went on to take second in the 200 fly (1:52.02). After the weekend, Willett leads the MAC in the 200 breast.Â
