NSCAA All-West Region Teams
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Missouri State junior captain Jack Griffin added another piece of hardware to his collection as he was selected to the NSCAA All-West Region third team, the National Soccer Coaches Association of America announced on Wednesday (Dec. 9). It is the defensive midfielder's first all-region selection and fifth for the Bears in just three seasons.
Griffin's all-region selection marks his third accolade commemorating his impressive performance during the 2015 season for the Bears. He was awarded All-Missouri Valley Conference first-team honors for the first time in his career after earning an honorable mention in 2014, as well as a MVC Defensive Player of the Week laurel.
The MVC Defensive Player of the Week award on Sept. 28 followed a game-winning goal against conference foe SIU Edwardsville. Griffin scored the golden goal off of a corner kick with two seconds left in overtime. The vocal leader played in all 17 matches for the Bears this season and will go into his senior season with four-career goals, two assists, and 38 shots on his resume.
