The Missouri State volleyball team closed out the regular season with a 22-9 overall record and a 13-5 mark in Missouri Valley Conference action to finish third in the league standings.
The Bears look to carry that momentum into the MVC Volleyball Championship this week on their home floor, Nov. 26-28. MSU begins with sixth-seeded Loyola (20-11, 9-9) at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, with the winner moving on to face No. 2 Southern Illinois at the same time Friday. The other half of the bracket includes No. 1 Wichita State, No. 4 UNI and No. 5 Illinois State.

The Opponent
Loyola is making its first MVC Tournament appearance with a 20-11 overall record and 9-9 league mark. The Ramblers feature the league's top statistical defense with a .177 opponent hitting percentage, and six regulars average at least 1.75 kills per set. LUC averages 13.87 kills, 15.17 digs, 1.30 aces and 2.40 blocks per set.

Championship History
Missouri State has appeared in six of the last 14 MVC Tournament finals. MSU is 26-26 in the tournament with titles coming in 1990, 1993, 2005 and 2008.
