MVC Release

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Missouri State standout, Rob Oslica, was recognized for his performance during the Bears' Missouri Valley Conference Tournament quarterfinal match against Loyola last Wednesday as announced by the league Sunday night.

In No. 4 seeded MSU's 1-0 quarterfinal match loss to No. 5 seeded Loyola Wednesday, Oslica was in the mix for the Bears finding shot opportunities for his teammates as a defender. There were multiple times Oslica crept into the midfield position to help advance the ball into Rambler territory.

Oslica started in all 17 matches for the Bears this season, recording over 1630 minutes for MSU. After earning a spot on the All-Freshman Team last season, Oslica used his sophomore season to showcase his defensive techniques.

The defender recorded three shots this season in the 1-0 win over SIU Edwardsville, 2-2 draw at Oral Roberts, and the 2-0 loss at South Florida.

The Bears finished the 2015 campaign with 6-6-5 overall record with the five draws being the club's most since 2008. Oslica's strong defense helped the Bears collect seven shutouts on the season.

In the classroom, the cell and molecular biology major hold a 3.79 cumulative grade point average. Oslica was one of two Bears to be awarded spots on the Capital One Academic All-District VI first team, as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) earlier this month.

Oslica will now be placed on the Division I Academic All-America ballot where first-, second-, and third-team All-America honorees will be selected at the end of the month.
