Brewer, Fouch, Le Earn Academic All-District First Team Distinction

Oct. 30, 2014

Three Missouri State women's soccer players were named to the Capital One Academic All-District VI first team, it was announced on Thursday (Oct. 30). Senior Kelsey Fouch and juniors Molly Brewer and Cassie Le were honored.

Le receives her second-straight academic all-district nod after being named to last year's first team. She has started 13 of 14 matches played this season and had placed half of her four shots taken on net. Last season, Le earned MVC Scholar-Athlete first team honors. She holds a 3.93 grade point average as a biology major at MSU.

Brewer earns her first academic all-district honor as she continues to climb the all-time MSU charts. With six goals and seven assists this season, she has moved into a tie for fourth in school history with 13 career assists and 39 career points. Brewer was also an MVC Scholar-Athlete first team selection a season ago. She is an undecided major with a 4.00 cumulative GPA.

Fouch add an academic all-district award to her plethora of hardware received as a Bear. She has started all 16 matches this season, logging a team-high 1,463 minutes of playing time. She is second on the team with five assists, a career high for the fourth-year player. The reigning MVC Defensive Player of the Year, Fouch has twice been named Valley Defensive Player of the Week this year. She is an exercise and movement science major with a 3.66 GPA.

To qualify for the Capital One Academic All-District team, a nominee must hold a cumulative 3.30 grade point average, must have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing and must have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's games.

The Bears close out the regular season at UNI today at 5:00 p.m. A win or a draw will likely put the Bears at home on Sunday to open the MVC Tournament.
