The Missouri State men's soccer team (4-2-1) returns home to face Atlantic Sun opponent Libscomb (3-4-1) on Sunday afternoon.

This Sunday's game marks Lipscomb's first ever visit to Springfield to play the Bears, but the two programs did face each other last season for the first time at the University of Central Arkansas Tournament.

In that game, James Thomas scored his first career goal and Missouri State won 1-0 behind the stellar play of eventual tournament Defensive MVP James Fawke, and all-tournament selections Andrew Turner and Jack Roberts.

All four of those Bears have returned this season and are making an impact on the pitch again for coach Jon Leamy's squad.

"We are going to keep working, getting better, and staying on course," Leamy said after the Oral Roberts game on Wednesday evening. "We are excited to get out there on Sunday against Lipscomb."

This is the first of three consecutive home games for the Bears, following the one game trip to Tulsa to face Oral Roberts. The Bears will host Missouri Valley Conference opponent Loyola Chicago on October 5th, then will get a rematch with Belmont on October 8th before heading out of Springfield to face Drake.

At Plaster Field, the Bears hold an impressive 4-0-1 record, the program's best home start since 2010 where Missouri State went undefeated (5-0-2) in seven home games that season.

The game is set to kickoff at 2:00 on Sunday at Plaster Sports Complex. The game will be streamed by Missouri State and can be found at the link above.
