ST. LOUIS - Missouri State senior Renata Sander has been named Missouri Valley Conference Swimmer of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.

Sander won all three breaststroke events in the Oklahoma Splash Bash, a two-day dual meet with TCU in Jenks, Okla., Saturday and Sunday. Sander took the 50-, 100- and 200-yard breaststrokes in times of 29.94, 1:04.61 and 2:20.36, respectively, as the Bears fell to the Horned Frogs, 213-151.

Sander was also fourth in the 200 IM in 2:11.16 and helped MSU to second-place finishes in the 200- and 400-medley relays. Sander swam the breaststroke leg in both races as the Bears finished in 1:46.26 and 3:56.38.

The honor is Sander's second of the season and third of her career. The two-time defending MVC Swimmer of the Year has also claimed weekly plaudits Nov. 5 of this year and Nov. 20 of last.

The Bears return to action Jan. Jan. 7 at Colorado Mesa in Grand Junction, Colo.
