St. LOUIS -- Missouri State junior middle blocker/right side hitter Andrea Beaty was honored as the season's final Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week Monday (Nov. 19). Beaty is the fourth MSU player to be honored with a weekly league award this season.

Beaty led Missouri State in kills (3.67/set), blocks (1.33/set) and hitting percentage (.367) last week. She began with 17 kills on 30 swings with a .500 attack efficiency against Drake, adding three digs and four blocks against the Bulldogs.

Saturday versus 23rd-ranked Creighton, the Pacific, Mo., native hit .333 with 16 kills and eight blocks, including four solo efforts against the Bluejays. Beaty's kill total against DU and block total vs. CU represented career highs.

The Bears (16-14, 10-8 MVC) take the No. 6 seed into this week's MVC Tournament at Hammons Student Center in Springfield, opening Thursday (Nov. 22) against third-seeded Wichita State at 7:30 p.m.
