Somers, WI - CollegeSwimming.com released their 2010-11 Mid-Major all-American teams. Missouri State sophomore Amber Green has been honored as an honorable mention on the list. Green was the only member of the Missouri Valley Conference to receive the accolade.
This season, Green was the MVC Swimmer of the Year and led the Bears to their fourth-consecutive conference crown, the eighth title in nine years. At the conference meet, Green was unstoppable. She set five new conference records, including a 22.54 in the 50-yard freestyle that was just short of the cut line for the NCAA national meet. In just two short years, Green is already prominent in the MSU record books, with three individual records to her name and three relay records.
This award will add to Green's already impressive trophy case. She has won first-team all-MVC twice, 2009-10 MSU Freshman of the Year, MVC Swimmer of the Week twice and 2010-11 MSU Swimmer of the Year.
