SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- The Missouri State volleyball team opens its spring exhibition season Saturday at Hammons Student Center with two scrimmages against Oral Roberts and two more against teams made up of MSU volleyball alumni.

    The Bears and ORU open at 11 a.m. with the alumni teams facing off at the same time on another court. Former volleyball Bears making up the alumni squads include Chenille Bayless, Bethany Fuller, Melissa Gmur, Cara Hackmann, Katie Kreimer, Sarah Lansing, Adeana McAfee, Erin O’Connor, Shayla Patrick, Sara Thomas, Nikki Vandepopulier and Katie Werges.

    Saturday’s other matches feature the Bears playing alumni teams at noon and 2 p.m. and playing ORU again at 3 p.m.

    All matches Saturday are free to attend and open to the public.

Spring schedule:
March 26 vs. Oral Roberts, 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.
March 26 vs. MSU Alumni, 12 p.m. and 2 p.m.
April 2 at UT Arlington Tournament (teams are MSU, UTA, Baylor, North Texas, TCU and SMU)
April 16 vs. Kansas, 12:30 p.m. (Kansas State Univ. Tournament at Blue Valley NW High in Kansas City)
April 16 vs. Arkansas, 1:30 p.m. (Kansas State Univ. Tournament at Blue Valley NW High in Kansas City)
April 16 vs. Kansas State, 2:30 p.m. (Kansas State Univ. Tournament at Blue Valley NW High in Kansas City)
April 28 vs. Arkansas, 6:30 p.m.
