COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- USA Volleyball announced Thursday that Missouri State freshman setter Carly Thomas earned a spot on the 2011 U.S. Women’s National A2 Program roster.

    The program, which includes 36 players with college eligibility remaining, will take place May 23-June 1 in Dallas, Texas, and includes playing in the 2011 USA Volleyball Open National Championships May 28-31.

    Thomas, who started 14 matches and played in all 31 for the Bears last fall, led Missouri State with 7.77 assists per set and 24 service aces to go with a .310 hitting percentage. She made the MVC All-Freshman team and was the league’s Freshman of the Week on two occasions.

    Missouri State went 21-10 and made its sixth NCAA Tournament in the last eight seasons in 2010.
