SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Missouri State women's basketball player Jacque Griggs will be forced to miss the remainder her senior season due to a degenerative knee condition, MSU head coach Nyla Milleson announced Wednesday. A three-year letterwinner, Griggs will remain at Missouri State to work toward the completion of her undergraduate degree.
Griggs had been limited to just two games in 2010-11 while rehabilitating her left knee from off-season surgery. The Kansas City native saw action in at least 30 contests each of her first three seasons in a Missouri State uniform, with her most-productive campaign coming during her sophomore year of 2008-09. Griggs averaged just over six points and 4.6 rebounds per outing, while making 19 of her 23 career starts as a Lady Bear that year.
Griggs became the first prep standout to commit to Missouri State following Milleson's appointment as head coach in the spring of 2007. The 6-0 forward finishes her MSU career as one of just 43 players in the 42-year history of the program to record both 300 points and 300 rebounds as a Lady Bear.
