ST LOUIS - For the second time this year Missouri State sophomore Amber Green has been named the Valley Swimmer of the Week. This is the third time a Bear has won the award this season.

Green showed that she is one of the top swimmers in the Valley with a stellar week against in-state rivals. In a televised meet against national powerhouse Drury University, Green was the top swimmer for the Bears. Her times of 23.26 and 50.41 in the 50-yard and 100-yard freestyle events, respectively, earned first-place finishes. These times would have been the top times in the MVC, if Green did not already own better times. She followed up the Drury meet with a four-event sweep at the Lindenwood Invitational. She turned in impressive times, including a new conference best mark in the 200-yard freestyle at 1:51.83. She finished first in the 100-yard and 200-yard freestyle events and helped the 400-yard medley and 400-yard freestyle teams win their events, as well.

The Bears will wrap up their regular season this weekend with duals at Evansville and Eastern Illinois. The Evansville meet will be on Jan. 28 at 4:00 p.m. and the Eastern Illinois matchup will be on Jan. 29 at 10:00 a.m.
