Missouri State Swimming Heads to Drury for Televised Contest

For the first time in nearly 20 years, the Missouri State swimming and diving team will be televised on Mediacom 22 (MC22). The meet will be the rematch of Springfield's "Duel in the Pool."

The Bears will take on the Panthers of Drury University on Jan. 20. This is the second meeting of the two teams this season. On Oct. 22, Drury swept the Bears with the men's score of 125-118 and the women's 137-102. The meet is one of the most competitive dual meets of the year for the Bears. Drury is one of the top Division II swimming programs in the country. In fact, the past two meetings of the men's teams have been decided by 12 points or less.

The meet will begin at 5:00 p.m., but the telecast will not air until Saturday Jan. 22 at 8 p.m. and again on Sunday, Jan. 23 at 8:00 p.m. on Mediacom 22 (MC22).

Also this weekend, Missouri State will travel to St. Charles, Mo. to compete in the Lindenwood Duals. This meet will be triple dual format, with Missouri State, Lindenwood, St. Louis and Illinois Tech competing together. Last season, the Bears defeated the field in the meet. The Lindenwood Duals will begin on Jan. 22 at 1:00 p.m.
