Hackmann Named to Academic All-District Team

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Missouri State volleyball player Cara Hackmann has earned a spot on the CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District VII Third Team, it was announced Thursday.

    A senior outside hitter/libero from Washington, Mo., Hackmann carries a 3.82 cumulative grade point average in finance. After setting every single-season school digs record last season as a libero, Hackmann has jumped back-and-forth between outside hitter and libero this season, ranking second on the team in digs (326) and average (3.70/set), third in assists (27) and aces (14), and fourth in total kills (139) and average (1.58/set).

     An Academic All-District Second Team member last season, Hackmann owns school records for hitting percentage in a match (.882, 15-0-17), digs in a match (46), season (671) and career (1,780), season dig average (5.74), and career double-figure dig matches (93). She is the current leader in career dig average (3.90) and ranks seventh with 456 career sets played.
   
    To be eligible for Academic All-America consideration, student-athletes must be a starter or important reserve with legitimate athletic credentials and at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) in both undergrad and graduate work. Student-athletes must have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing at their current institution and must have completed at least one full academic year at that institution. Only first-team all-district selections advance to the national ballot.
