Missouri State Swimming and Diving Teams Face Busy Weekend

Missouri State swimming and diving teams will be hosting Lindenwood on Nov. 5 and travelling the following morning to take on Truman State in Kirksville, Mo.

On Friday, the Bears will host Lindenwood University for the first of two meetings between the two schools. Missouri State will travel to St. Charles late in January to complete to the series.  Historically, the Bears have competed very well against the Lions, especially senior diver Eric Ducourneau. Ducourneau owns the Missouri State record on the three-meter board. He achieved his score of 365.85 against Lindenwood in 2008. Additionally, the team's top score on the one-meter board last season was a 294.30 from Ducourneau against the Lions. Both the men and women went 2-0 against the Lions last season.

After the contest with the Lions, the Bears will take on Truman State in Kirksville on Nov. 6. Last season, Truman was one of only three teams to best the Missouri State women in a dual meet. This season, the Bears will look to sweep. Though the Bears have already faced two losses this season, but Missouri State has the top time in the MVC in every event in which they have competed. The men went 2-0 against the Bulldogs last season, while the women went 1-1.

This weekend will be the final tune up for the Bears before they compete in the prestigious 2010 Purdue Invitational on Nov. 19. The meet features some of the top swimming talent in the nation. Last season, Missouri State swam with schools such as Ohio State, Michigan and host school Purdue. Each of these schools was featured prominently in the 2010 NCAA National Championship.
