Senior Dillon Burns (Olathe, Kan.) has been named MAC Swimmer of the Week for his efforts against Drury University.
Set the bar for MAC swimmers in the 50 and 100 yard freestyle, winning each while finishing the events in 20.77 and 46.14 seconds, respectively. Also swam the anchor leg for the 2nd place 400 yard freestyle relay, completing his portion of the event in 45.54 seconds. Burns' time in the 50-yard freestyle is currently the 28th-fastest time in the country.
Burns and the Bears will return to action this saturday, Oct. 30 when they take on the Salukis of Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Ill. The Salukis, like the Bears, compete in the Mid-American Conference for the men and the Missouri Valley Conference for the women. This year, the conference championship meets for both the MAC and the MVC will be held in Carbondale. The meet is scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m.
