SPRINGFIELD -- The Missouri State University men’s and women’s swimming and diving squads have been recognized for their work in the classroom by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America with their selections as CSCAA Scholar All-American Teams for the Spring 2009 semester.

 

The MSU women wrapped up the spring semester with a team grade-point average of 3.36, placing 33rd nationally among all Division I programs. The Bears, who captured their second consecutive Missouri Valley Conference title in 2009, were one of 109 programs honored by the CSCAA with the national award. Eight MSU women achieved a semester GPA of 4.0 and 18 were listed on the Spring 2009 Missouri State Dean’s List (GPA of 3.50 or above).

 

The MSU men’s squad was one of 57 NCAA Division I swimming and diving programs to be honored by the CSCAA after posting a 3.06 team GPA for the spring semester. The Bears, who finished second at the Sun Belt Conference Championship in 2009, placed six student-athletes on the Missouri State Dean’s List, including two team members who completed the term with 4.0 grade-point averages.

                                                                                               

The CSCAA honors teams for their academic achievements twice a year. To be eligible for the award, a team must maintain an average grade-point average of 3.0 or above.
